Referrals only — health visitors, midwives, social workers, family hubs and support workers can refer a family to us. Families cannot refer themselves. If you need help, ask anyone already supporting you to get in touch on your behalf.
How to get a bundle from us
We cannot take a request straight from a family. Somebody working with you has to refer you. That is how we know what to pack, what sizes to send and where to send it.
It is not a test and it is not a judgement on you. It is simply how a small charity run by volunteers keeps track of what is needed.
Who can refer you
- Your health visitor
- Your midwife
- A social worker
- A family hub or children’s centre worker
- A family support worker at a school or nursery
- A refuge, housing or homelessness worker
- A food bank or advice worker
- Staff at your GP surgery
If any of these people are already involved with your family, ask them. It takes them a few minutes.
If nobody is involved yet
You are not stuck. Any of these can refer you, and contacting them costs nothing:
- Ring your GP surgery and ask to speak to the health visiting team
- Ring your midwife, if you are pregnant or have recently given birth
- [LOCAL FAMILY HUB — NAME, PHONE, OPENING HOURS]
- Citizens Advice — [LOCAL BRANCH AND NUMBER]
What you will get
Clothes in the right sizes, nappies, bedding, feeding equipment, toiletries, and a few books and toys. What we can send depends on what we have been given, so we ask what you actually need rather than sending a standard box of things you have no use for.
Some things are always new, never passed on: mattresses, bottles, teats and car seats. Where second-hand is not safe, we buy new or we do not supply it.
What it costs
Nothing. No charge, no deposit, nothing to pay back and nothing to return. What we send you is yours. When your child grows out of it, you are very welcome to bring it back for the next family, but nobody is going to ask you to.
How long it takes
We reply to whoever referred you within [X WORKING DAYS], and arrange collection or delivery from there. If something is urgent, say so on the referral and we will do what we can.
What we will not do
- Ask you to prove your income
- Turn up at your door unannounced
- Put your name, your children’s names or their photographs on this website or on social media
- Pass your details to anyone outside the charity, except where we are legally required to
How we handle your information is set out in our privacy notice.
